This is an example of a desirable Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) as manufactured by Group Industries of Louisville, Kentucky. This example of the M1918A2 is a very fine reproduction of the late-World War II Browning Automatic Rifle using a combination of a new and military surplus components fitted to one of their newly manufactured all steel receiver. The original BAR was one of the first light squad automatic machine guns that proved to be very effective, seeing limited use at the end of WWI all the way through Korea. The top of the receiver is marked: "BROWNING AUTOMATIC RIFLE/U.S. CAL 30 M1918A2/ MANUF'D BY GROUP INDUSTRIES". It has the standard blade front and the folding ladder adjustable rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked with the drawing number "D-8769-6", with the front end stamped, "10 44". The left side of the receiver has a three-position selector for semi-auto/full-auto/safe . It has the late WWII/Korean war style black composite/fiberglass buttstock with walnut forend. Firearm will come with a complete parts kit including a replacement barrel. This is a fully transferable NFA Class III Firearm currently on a Form 3 ready to transfer to your dealer. This gun is not being brokered and is owned and in the possession of Mockingbird Precision.
